Aims and Objectives

More thorough understanding of the basics of German grammar and ability to properly use a bilingual dictionary to enable the students to understand documents about books written in more elaborate German and to translate them into French

Familiarization with the spoken language

Description
  1. Practice of the written language: study of documents about books taken from catalogues of German publishing houses as well as from the Belgian German language newspaper "Grenz-Echo" and German language magazines
  2. Correct use of a bilingual dictionary and of the grammatical notes to develop the students' skill in translating documents from the target language into French
  3. Familiarization with the spoken and sung language: reading and pronunciation exercises based on the above-mentioned documents and on some songs by the German group "Rammstein"
  4. Familiarization with the basics of everyday German by means of recorded dialogues
