Aims and Objectives

At the end of the second year, students must be able to :

- Correctly construct various more particular author cross-

references : anonymous headings, uniform title headings, form title headings

- draw up correct bibliographic descriptions of any type of monographic publication whatsoever, and determine its correct author cross-references

- draw up a correct bibliographic description of a serial publication and determine its correct author cross-references

Description

Follow up on fundamentals studied in the 1st year course : components of a catalogue entry, structure of bibliographic description (main rules regarding construction and punctuation)

- Structure of anonymous headings

- Structure of uniform titles, definition, use in an alphabetical author catalogue

- Structure of form titles, definition, use in an alphabetical author catalogue

- Serial publication cataloguing : goals and field of application ; drafting of bibliographic description
