Aims and Objectives

- to read, understand and interpret  intermediate-level documents on various topics

- to use English more specifically in the field of library science

- to use English actively as a communication tool both in writing and orally

Description

Brushing up and enhancing basic grammar and linguistic structures. Synthetic theoretical approach followed by exercises (translation exercises, gaps to fill in , etc.) with keys : tenses and forms, spelling rules, interrogative sentences, some, any, no and compounds, comparatives and superlatives, auxiliaries.

Discovery and practice of the written language (authentic and varied material)

Introduction to the spoken language : reading exercises, conversation, exploitation of texts from a portfolio. Use of audiovisual material such as The New English with Victor Method - level one in 20 lessons.

Individual presentation of current topics freely chosen by the students themselves

Bibliography

Books, newspapers and periodicals, internet websites, films and documentaries, BBC, audio and video cassettes.
