Aims and Objectives

The course will encourage students' reflection on the current reconfiguration of social policies and in particular their impact on contemporary modes of social work.

Practical work (interview) will be required for students and a group work which will involve their ability to discuss, analyze and build a critical argument.

They will also raise methodological skills to conduct interviews, transcribe and analyze them collectively.

Description

The first part of the course (30H) follows the chapters of a reference book published by the teacher: D. Vrancken, Social Barbare, Edition Couleur Livre, 2010.

The second part of the course will be organized around a question, inspired by the work of Laforgue Denis (2009), "How contemporary public institutions perceive and treat the audiences to whom they are addressed? ". Then, the course will be supplemented by student presentations and discussions about these presentations.

Bibliography

Students must obtain the book "Social barbare".

A bibliography will be offered as well as their support for the survey (interview schedule).

The theoretical lectures will be supported on slides (powerpoint).
