Anatomy and physiology course (1st year), nursing care courses (1st and 2nd year) and general and medical pathology courses.

Aims and Objectives

To apply theoretical knowledge of physics, radiobiology and protection against radiation in patient care in order to ensure examinations of good quality.

Description

General information: definition, goals, organisation, hazards and contraindications of medical imagery technics:

  • Ultrasound scans
  • Radiology
  • Scanner
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Scintigraphy
  • Positon emission tomography

Specific nursing role relative to the type of imagery and examination, especially patient preparation and surveillance for:

  • Diagnostic tests
  • interventions in imaging

Specific nursing role in the organisation and management of imaging tests in hospital theatre.
