Aims and Objectives

Master the different aspects (security, optimization, ...) of configuration and administration of computer systems (both UNIX/LINUX and Microsoft Active Directory based).

Description
  • Part I : UNIX/LINUX
  • Installation of a Linux distribution (partitioning, Filesystem Hierarchy Standard, ...)
  • Software management (packages, dependencies, repositories, ...)
  • Basic network configuration (interface, IP, kernel modules, stack, DHCP, routing table)
  • Logging and monitoring (syslog-ng)
  • Kernel management (compilation, patch, drivers)
  • Local security (permissions, access lists, PAM, ...)
  • Network security (IP tables, SSH tunnels, OpenSSL, Fail2ban, ...)
  • Shell (bash) and basic scripting
  • PART II MICROSOFT
  • Windows Server 2008 and networking services : DHCP, WINS et DNS (NetBIOS, Stand Alone DNS, AD integrated DNS, DNS forwarding, root hints, DNS caching)
  • Active Directory : multidomain structure : trees, forests, sites, TLD, FSMO, Replication, Users, Groups, OUs,... Design of an Active Directory based domain
  • Group policies : User & Computer configuration, GPMC, Roaming profiles, Mandatory profiles, shared folders, software deployment, terminal serve
  • Server Monitoring
