Prerequisite

Digital and analogue electronics, electricity and electromagnetism basic knowledge. Student must already have designed and realized electronic systems before following this course.

Aims and Objectives

Introduce students to electromagnetic compatibility (emission and susceptibility), measurement methods and norms. Learn design rules used to build robust and less disturbing devices.

Description

Origin of interferences, transfer mode. Emission and susceptibility measurement methods, norms.

Common mode and differential mode coupling mechanisms, radiated and conducted emissions, inductive and capacitive coupling, shields effectiveness, grounding.

Design of robust devices, limitation of electromagnetic emissions.
